The Cashmere Shop journey began in 1993, after my father, Alaster Currie, traveled to Mongolia on a United Nations geological mission as one of the first westerners to enter the country after democratization. Scottish-born, and with an eye for knitwear, Alaster fell in love with the exquisite cashmere Mongolia's people had to offer, soon befriending some of the country's finest producers.
