The In-Between Season

March has always felt like a month that can’t quite decide what it wants to be. Winter lingers, but spring is already whispering at the door.

The snow still falls in quiet (or big) bursts. Ski hills are busy. Après sweaters are still draped over shoulders, warm drinks in hand, cheeks pink from the cold. Winter hasn’t left yet Spring is arriving.

Something shifts in March.

The light changes. Days stretch a little longer. The air softens just enough to hint that the season is turning.

In fashion, Spring styles have arrived. New colours. Lighter layers appear. Cashmere transitions from fireside to breezy evenings. Pieces that travel easily, from chilly mornings to sunny afternoons, become the heroes of the closet.

And for many of us, March also means a quick escape south. Palm trees, salt air, bare shoulders after months of scarves. A suitcase filled with easy knits that work just as well on a beach walk as they do back home.

It’s the beauty of this month, the duality.

Ski days and sunshine.
Après sweaters and spring arrivals.
Snow boots one week, sandals the next.

March sits right in the middle, holding both seasons at once. Holding the season of possibilities.
